The Results IV

I'm not trying to justify myself. Alienating your own son is a big mistake and certainly makes the problem worst.

But the school was demanding and expecting certain level of "progress", of "independent work" of "literacy", of "discipline", of "responsibility", of "progress", etc, etc, etc, that he was not quite meeting. I tried to adjust my "expectations", I did my best to be understanding. But it is very painful and puzzling to witness that certain "skills" that seem to come naturally to most of the kids become a little bit of a struggle to your own.

And when this happens you start to wonder, what's going on?, Why he forgets?, Why he is messy? Why he can't stay on track on his tasks?, Why he doesn't make progress as "expected"?, Are the "expectations" appropriate?. Is it a problem of discipline? Is it a problem of lack of Will? or lack of motivation? or lack of interest? Am I being too weak in setting limits, too permissive? Am I being to strict or rigid?
